March Cooking Class Topic-Southern Cuisine

While many know I have a great deal of family, and friends in the Southern part of the United States most have little understanding of the impact that has on ones life. While origins of the best Barbecue will forever be debated I doubt many will argue the South is known for it’s Fried Chicken!
Some of the best Fried Chicken I have ever had was sitting on the banks of the Chattahoochee River after a few hours of standing in it’s frigid waters tempting Trout. I have a great friend who’s Grandma would bring a picnic basket filled with Fried Chicken, Biscuits, and all the trimmings for our lunch. She always left us with a kiss, a jug of Sweet Tea, and the best Sweet Potato pie I’ve ever had. Life doesn’t get any better than that!
We’re not standing in the waters below Buford Dam, but we this month we welcome Spring with our own Southern Style Picnic complete with all the trimmings:

Menu:

Fried Green Tomatoes
Collard Green Potato Salad
Cole Slaw
Southern Fried Chicken
Buttermilk Biscuits
Sweet Potato Pie

Class Starts
Monday March 15, 2010- 3 PM Beach Clubhouse
